Here are answers to a few questions commonly asked by first timers:
Q. How are paintball games structured? A. The main game that is played in paintball is "Capture the Flag." Players are divided into two teams (red and yellow). Their goal is to capture the opponent's flag and return it to their own station first to win the game. The alternate win is to eliminate the other team completely.
Q. How long are the games? A. Normally, each game is about 15 - 20 min. Loud-sounding horns signal the start and finish of each game. Predator Paintball Park
Q. How many games are played in a day? A. This varies, depending on how active your group is. You can play 6 or 7 games or if your group is really motivated you can play up to 10 or 12 games in a single day of play.
Q. How do you find your opponents flag station? A. The flag stations are generally located at opposite ends of the field, and the players are shown the flag stations prior to the game, as you are introduced to the field. It is determined before the game as to who has which flag station; then you switch ends of the field every other game.
Q. How will I know the rules? A. There is an orientation briefing before the start of the day's games that explains the rules for on and off the playing field. (If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask!). The rules are kept as simple as possible.
Q. How can I remember who's on my team? A. Everyone wears a matching armband that is the same color as his or her flag.
Q. How big are the playing fields? A. Our bush field is roughly half an acre with a tower, forts and barricades throughout. We also have a speedball field, which is larger than most speedball fields. There are many natural hazards when running so once again using your common sense is highly recommended!
Q. Where do I get the necessary equipment? A. We have all the necessary equipment to rent.
Q. Can I bring my own paintballs? A. No. Our business is primarily made up of selling paintballs. If everybody brought their own, there wouldn't be much point in us even being there. Besides, you wouldn't bring your own food to a restaurant would you?
Q. How much will a day of play cost me? A. An average day of play may cost $30 to $60, depending on how trigger-happy you get!
Q. What do I need to bring? A. You may want to bring a sack lunch and/or some munchies. We do sell pop and snacks and there is a BBQ and fire pit for your use if you like. If you do bring beer, save them for the end of the day as consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited during playing hours.
Q. What should I wear? A. We recommend that you wear some sort of durable boot. White tennis shoes are not recommended. Camouflage clothing is definitely fun but not necessary. If you don't have camouflage, just wear some sort of dark loose clothing. Dress for the weather. We play rain or shine. Even if it doesn't look like rain, it's sure nice to have a change of clothes for the end of the day.
Q. Anything else I should know? A. Most importantly, never forget whey you're there. Have fun, listen and obey the safety rules at all times. Don't be afraid to take chances, it's part of the game. And remember, it's only paint, so relax and have some fun!
